Reading Huddles
Designed for Reading Coaches, Specialist, or Lead Teachers ONLY.
Reading Huddles are designed to help strengthen the skills of the
Reading Coaches/Specialists and to provide active dialogue regarding
the Discover Intensive Phonics method and material.
HEC Reading Horizons wants to empower the Reading Coach/Specialist with skills,
phonics knowledge, and confidence in the method, as they assist their
teachers in implementing the Discover Intensive Phonics
or Reading Horizons programs.
A Certified Discover Intensive Phonics or Reading Horizons Trainer presents
once a month a key topic to the Reading Coaches/Specialists. Information
on the topic will be the object of discussion, and additional time will
be allowed for dialogue regarding questions and concerns they have encountered.
This is an opportune time for Reading Coaches/Specialists to give feedback
from the teachers, or a quick review on a specific phonics skill.
Topics will range from teaching skills from the Discover Intensive Phonics
program to recent reading research issues. Responses and questions from
teachers to the Reading Coaches/Specialists are welcomed and could be
topics for future huddles.
Reading Huddles are conducted on a monthly basis and downloads from previously recorded huddles are
