Brad Siegfried
Brad Siegfried is the president of BLS, Inc., which publishes Tutorsystems software. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. During his 20-plus years with BLS, Siegfried has guided the development of Tutorsystems software from the floppy disk to the Internet. He has also worked with state customers in Delaware, Florida, and Missouri and corporate customers, including Steck-Vaughn and Sylvan Learning, to adapt the Tutorsystems software to their specific needs. Recently, Siegfried worked with the state of Florida's Literacy Cyberspace pilot project to customize the Tutorsystems software to support Florida's adult education program statewide. Siegfried managed the development of several Tutorsystems software products through multiple hardware platforms and operating systems. He also managed curriculum development and editorial projects, coordinating the work of subject matter experts and programmers. These development projects have culminated in the current Internet-based Windows version of the Tutorsystems software. Siegfried is a leader in the development of online curricula.
Siegfried's involvement with Reading Horizons arose from conversations with customers who used both the Tutorsystems and Reading Horizons software. The Tutorsystems Basic Skills Series software requires a fourth grade prerequisite reading level, so many Tutorsystems customers need additional software to address the needs of students reading below this level. Thanks to the experience of shared customers, Siegfried regularly recommends Reading Horizons software whenever Tutorsystems customers need to serve students reading below the fourth grade level.
