Seventy-five interactive, voice-narrated lessons compose Discover Intensive Phonics. The following table describes the content and sequence of these lessons:

Lesson 1 Introduction to the course and instructions in computer operation.
Lesson 2 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the vowel A.
Lesson 3 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant B.
Lesson 4 Joining consonants and vowel sounds to form a “slide.” How to mark and pronounce slides using the vowel A and the learned consonant B.
Lesson 5 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant F. fa slide.
Lesson 6 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant D. da slide.
Lesson 7 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant G. ga slide.
Lesson 8 What constitutes a word? Adding ending consonants to slides to form words. Marking the vowel in words and introduction of “nonsense” words. Reading and spelling words using the four consonants and vowel learned in previous lessons.
Lesson 9 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant H. ha slide. Reading and spelling now include H.
Lesson 10 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant J. ja slide. Reading and spelling now include J.

Lesson 14 Introduction of the first set of Most Common Words. Reading, spelling, pronouncing, and identifying these words: I, a, the, no, it, is, his, at, in, my, have, as, has.
Lesson 15 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant N, including na and ne slides. Reading and spelling now include N.
Lesson 16 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant P, including pa and pe slides. Reading and spelling now include P.
Lesson 17 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant R, including ra and re slides. Reading and spelling now include R.
Lesson 18 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant S, including sa and se slides. Reading and spelling now include S.
Lesson 19 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the vowel O. Key word for O. Joining O with the 12 previously learned consonants to form slides. Reading and spelling with the 12 learned consonants and three learned vowels.
Lesson 20 Introduction of the second set of Most Common Words: to, do, he, me, you, your, doing, mother, father, come, some, are, what, where, from, said.
Lesson 21 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant T, including ta, te, and to slides. Reading and spelling now include T.
Lesson 22 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant V, including va, ve, and vo slides. Reading and spelling now include V.
Lesson 23 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant W, including wa, we, and wo slides. Reading and spelling now include W.
Lesson 24 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonants X and Y. Forming words from the ya, ye, and yo slides. The special “ks” sound of the letter X as it is used at the end of words.
Lesson 25 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the vowel U. Key word for U. How to pronounce slides formed from the previously learned consonants and the vowel U. Reading and spelling with the 17 consonants and four learned vowels.
Lesson 26 Introduction of the third set of Most Common Words: off, on, one, once, she, been, work, word, give, done, we, were, here, this, was, does.
Lesson 27 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant Z, including za, ze, zo, and zu slides. Name, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonant Q. Standing alone, Q has no sound. When followed by the letter U, it says “kwuh.” When Q and U are next to one another, they are to be joined with an arc, and U is no longer viewed as a vowel.
Lesson 28 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the vowel I. Key word for I. How to pronounce slides formed from the previously learned consonants and the vowel I. Reading and spelling with the 19 consonants and five vowels.
Lesson 29 Name, sound, formation, and position on the keyboard of the consonants C and K. C and K share the same sound, “kuh.”
Lesson 30 Spelling with C and K. The vowels tell when a word should begin with C or K.
Lesson 31 Introduction of the fourth set of Most Common Words: want, could, would, should, they, their, there, eye, of, who, both, friend, build.
Lesson 32 Introduction and pronunciation of the six L-Blends: bl, cl, fl, gl, pl, and sl. Forming slides by joining L-Blend sounds to vowel sounds. Learning to read, spell, and mark L-Blend words.
Lesson 33 Introduction to words that end with double S, F, and Z. Making words plural by adding -s or -es.
Lesson 34 Introduction and pronunciation of the seven R-Blends: br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, and tr. Slides formed by joining the sounds of R-Blends to vowel sounds. Reading, spelling, and marking words using the R-Blends.
Lesson 35 Introduction and pronunciation of the Special Vowel Combinations all, ell, oll, ull, ill. Reading, spelling, and marking the double L Special Vowel Combinations.
Lesson 36 Introduction and pronunciation of the eight two-letter S-Blends: sc, sk, sl, sm, sn, sp, st, and sw and the five three-letter S-Blends: scr, spr, str, spl, and squ. The slides formed by joining the sounds of the S-Blends to vowel sounds. Reading, spelling, and marking words using S-Blends. Introduction of the tw and dw blends and reinforcement of the qu sound.
Lesson 37 Introduction of the fifth set of Most Common Words: pull, flood, full, blood, answer, don't, before, won't, brother, nothing, four, won, color, height, blue. Introduction to contractions with the words don’t and won’t.
Lesson 38 Introduction of the terms “short” and “long” vowels and use of diacritical markings.
Lesson 39 Introduction of Phonetic Skill #1. Explanation of the term “guardian,” defined as the consonant that immediately follows a vowel and causes the vowel to be short. Reading, spelling, and marking words using Phonetic Skill #1.
Lesson 40 Introduction of Phonetic Skill #2. Two guardians also cause the vowel to be short; they may or may not form a blend. Reading, spelling, and marking words using Phonetic Skills #1 and #2.
Lesson 41 Adding -ing to words with one guardian, two guardians, double Ls, and X.
Lesson 42 Use of the articles “the,” “a,” and “an.”
Lesson 43 Introduction of Phonetic Skill #3. When the vowel stands alone in a word (no guardians) and has a long vowel sound. Reading, spelling, marking, and adding -ing to words following Phonetic Skill #3.
Lesson 44 Introduction of Phonetic Skill #4 . Silent E makes the vowel long. Guardians are overruled by silent E. Reading, spelling, marking, and adding -ing to words following Phonetic Skill #4.
Lesson 45 A new sound for C and G. When followed by E or I, the sound of C changes to S. When followed by E or I, G will usually have the sound of J. Reading, spelling, and marking words containing the new C and G sounds.
Lesson 46 Adding -ing to silent E words by dropping the E and adding -ing.
Lesson 47 Introduction to Phonetic Skill #5: adjacent vowels make the first vowel long. Reading, spelling, and marking words using Phonetic Skill #5.
Lesson 48 Review of adding -ing. Spelling words ending with the sound “kuh.”
Lesson 49 Contractions. Making contractions with not, are, is, us, am, will, and would. Which letters are taken out and replaced with the apostrophe when making contractions.
Lesson 50 Introduction of the sixth set of Most Common Words: carry, marry, any, many, bury, busy, buy, goes, guess, door, floor, woman, women, eight, weigh, weight, enough. Reading, spelling, pronouncing, and identifying these words. Introduction to two of the many jobs of Y and the three sounds of gh.
Lesson 51 Introduction of the ar Murmur Diphthong. Murmur Diphthong words will not have guardians. Reading, spelling, and marking ar Murmur Diphthong words.
Lesson 52 Introduction of the or Murmur Diphthong. Reading, spelling, and marking or Murmur Diphthong words.
Lesson 53 Introduction of er, ur, and ir Murmur Diphthongs. All three have the same sound. Reading, spelling, and marking Murmur Diphthong words.
Lesson 54 Exceptions to Murmur Diphthong words: silent E, adjacent vowels, and W.
Lesson 55 Introduction of the seventh set of Most Common Words: earn, learn, early, heard, gone, great, long, light, laugh, island, lose, money, by, love, genius.
Lesson 56 Introduction to Digraphs. How to recognize, pronounce, and mark the Digraphs ch, sh, th (voiced), th (voiceless), and wh. Reading, spelling, and marking words with Digraphs.
Lesson 57 More Digraphs. New spellings for sounds already taught: ph, gn, kn, wr, and ck. Reading, spelling, and marking words using these five Digraphs.
Lesson 58 Digraph blends: thr, shr, phl, phr, chl, chr, and sch. Reading, spelling, and marking words using Digraph blends.
Lesson 59 Making plurals by adding -es or -s. Spelling with tch and dge. Reading, spelling, and marking plurals and words that end in tch or dge.
Lesson 60 Introduction of the eighth set of Most Common Words: ever, never, every, very, says, move, put, push, shoe, through, view, wrong, seven, only, onion, iron, pretty.
Lesson 61 Introduction of the Special Vowel Sound au/aw (pigpen). Recognizing, pronouncing, and marking the au/aw Special Vowel Sound (pigpen).
Lesson 62 Introduction of the Special Vowel Sound ou/ow (pigpen). Recognizing, pronouncing, and marking the ou/ow Special Vowel Sound (pigpen).
Lesson 63 Introduction of the Special Vowel Sound oi/oy (pigpen). Recognizing, pronouncing, and marking the oi/oy Special Vowel Sound (pigpen)
Lesson 64 Introduction of the Special Vowel Sound oo (pigpen). Two combinations of the same spelling but two different sounds: oo (zoo) and oo (look). Recognizing, pronouncing, and marking the two double O Special Vowel Sounds (pigpens).
Lesson 65 Introduction of the ninth set of Most Common Words: walk, talk, wash, youth, young, junior, two, toward, together, though, thought, beauty, again, sure, sugar, ton, truth.
Lesson 66 The many jobs of Y. Recognizing Y as a consonant and as a vowel. Using the Five Phonetic Skills to determine when Y says the sound of short I.
Lesson 67 More jobs of Y. Using the Five Phonetic Skills to determine when Y will say long I and when Y is a silent adjacent vowel.
Lesson 68 Decoding Skill #1. What is a syllable? The first rule for dividing words into syllables. The last job of Y: long E. Decoding, reading, and spelling two-syllable words.
Lesson 69 Practice decoding multi-syllabic words containing Murmur Diphthongs, Digraphs, blends, and double ls.
Lesson 70 Decoding Skill #2. The second rule for dividing words into syllables.

Lesson 74 Review of all multi-syllabic decoding. Words ending in -le. A syllable with only a vowel “sound.” Reading and spelling words ending in -le.
Lesson 75 Exceptions to the decoding skills in words such as robin, camel, cabin, etc. How to identify and read.
