Discover Intensive Phonics 4.0 Technical Specifications

Discover Intensive Phonics is available in a networked (LAN) version as well as a stand alone (single computer) version for both Windows and Macintosh. It is also available as an online version for Windows only. Below is listed the required specifications for each of these available setups.

Stand Alone / Client

• Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, or Vista - Macintosh OS X
• 300 MHz processor minimum (1 GHz recommended; minimum 700 MHz required for Fun with Phonics activities)
• 64 MB RAM minimum (128 MB RAM recommended)
• 20 MB hard drive space (up to 600 MB to copy lesson files and media)
• 800 x 600 display minimum
• CD-ROM drive
• Sound card
• Speakers or headphones
• Microphone (optional)

Network / Server

• LAN solution for network
• Centralized file server
• Any viable server OS
• 600 MB hard drive space on server

Online Version

• Internet connection, 56Kbps minimum (1Mbps recommended)
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or higher
• Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, or Vista
• All other requirements are the same as for Stand Alone
